What a joke.

Big appleWhen I first had the opportunity to cover a team, I said hey, why not cover the New York Giants. I live in New York, they are an interesting team and almost always in the playoff hunt. The Giants have made a ” dream opportunity” a monotonous chore, whenever I have to watch them play. I believe ESPN’s Mark Schlereth , said it best a few weeks ago ” Im not sure there is a room or a tee time available in the Bahamas in January. The Giants have already booked them all. They have already given up!” Given up they have indeed.

I honestly don’t even know why, the New York Giants even showed up, on Sunday afternoon at home in Met Life Stadium, (most likely for that fat paycheck they get).

The Seattle Seahawks came into town for a 1 o’clock game and as most west coast teams usually do, they didn’t play well in the first quarter. Seattle only scored 3 points in the first quarter and it was only because, they were probably still a little asleep. The Giants were just awful in this game. Eli Manning threw 5 interceptions, he threw 5 picks, that’s more picks than points scored, which was 0, more picks than times they crossed midfield with their starting offense which was 1. All you really need to know about this game is, it was a colossal waste of time to watch it, unless you root for the Hawks. I don’t know if you realize how bad you have to be to only cross midfield once in a game. I’m not a Giants fan, but I do feel their pain. The final score was 23-0 and that was only because, Pete Carroll shut down his offense with 10 minutes left in the game. Oh, and by the way, the Giants lost their best offensive weapon Victor Cruz to season ending knee surgery.

Next for New York, is the Detroit Lions. If Sunday was any sign of things to come, this should be a blow out and fast. For the sake of my fantasy football championships, I hope Stafford and Bush destroy the barely alert Giants defense. I feel like I’m going out on a limb, when I predict the Giants will score on Sunday. They will lose, but at least score.
